Worth the Hype and the Price - Beauty Products to try.

As a woman on a very tight budget (or at least a woman whose supposed to be) I try to be very smart about the products that I decide to spend my money on. I typically do research on reviews of the products I have an interest in, but more often than not when something catches my eye I throw caution to the wind and buy it the first chance I get. I typically give products a trial run to judge their effectiveness for my own skin. Everyone’s skin is different so reviews don’t always apply, and these days you can return almost anything!

Since this is the first article of many, I’m including some of my most beloved products. While my faves are not always the cheapest, some allow After pay, and I promise the benefits far outweigh the costs.

Though there are thankfully many organic, sulfate free, paraben free, and cruelty free products out there, their availability often makes it even harder to pinpoint exactly which one is right, and while cheaper is sometimes better, you don’t want something that will break you out!

So below you’ll find six of the products I’m loving right now, whether pricey or less expensive, I can say from firsthand experience that they’re worth the hype and worth every pretty penny you spend.

As someone who has been fighting hyperpigmentation due to acne for years now, I can say that this serum goes on smooth and easy. While slightly sticky, it absorbs quickly. This is my newest trial however, and I’m still waiting to see it’s effects. Regardless, no B.S is up front about it’s beneift’s and stays true to it’s claims: It doesn’t include any of the B.S other companies try to hide. $40 (or $10. with After pay)

While I’m typically partial to Nar’s or It Cosmetics, trying this was completely beneficial for me. Not only is it inexpensive, it fully covers my blemishes and comes in a variety of shades. $9.78 at Amazon , (higher prices at Target, Walmart, Ulta)

By now, everyone’s heard of Glossier, and I promise, it completely lives up to all the hype. Boy Brow is one of my faves because it’s application is incredibly simple yet it’s quite effective. Naturally groomed and filled in brows in seconds. $16

I originally discovered Ritual on instagram and I love it. I can trust Ritual because they give users complete knowledge as to why they’ve included their ingredients and what they’re good for. As well as where their ingredients come from. More then that I’ve seen more benefits from these vitamins then I have from a year of taking gummie’s. $30 a month.

This is by far my favorite sunscreen in the world. I try to avoid chemical sunscreens, and many zinc oxide sunscreens leave a white or oily sheen. This one however becomes clear and matte, and though it does contain Octocrylene as well as Zinc Oxide, this is a much safer alternative to popular chemicals such as Oybenzone. I typically buy mine on Amazon for around $5.91

It has literally been impossible for me to find a lotion as moisturizing and creamy as this. While many people are into thick lotions, this is both creamy and smooth and though it isn’t thick it is completely moisturizing and it smells divine. It goes on easy and smooth, and I can spread it on my body quickly and easily. It keeps my skin hydrated consistently, and though I’ve tried other creams from Sol de Janeiro, I would recommend this to everyone . $45

These are just a few of the products that I would recommend to anyone and everyone from firsthand usage, and there are many more to come. The great thing about the beauty industry is that there are so many products to try, and with each new release there is yet another product that is cleaner, more environmentally friendly, and ready and willing to back up all it’s claims. We have every right to try as many products as necessary until we feel that our skin and our bodies are at their absolute best, and this series is here to help everyone on their journey to their best self.

If you’ve tried any of these or decide to after reading this, let me know how you liked these products and if you’d recommend them to someone else too! The more you know right?
